None shall breach castle Chest!
Also, at this scale, i feel that jumping that ravine isn't too crazy.
... I cast Levitate and go over to the chest, or bring it to me, like a sensible person.
Well, the tower hasn't been so bad so far. I prepare myself for some new devious-ness, but honestly how bad could it be?
This... this is considerably bad. A force of dark magic that makes my hair tingle on my neck. The laughter makes me whirl around at the darkness. All around me. Cruel, pitiless laughter I haven't heard since childhood. Since the bullies left me scarred.
Oh, it's just an old man. Are you lost, sir?
Uh... can I run for that door on the far side? I'd like to do that.
This... this isn't going to be the door I saw across the room, is it? The door I actually want.

Hey, you don't tell me when I scratch my head quizzically!
Why is Levitate not on this list?
Well, I don't have a Strength Spell, and I am apparently forbidden from using the spell that is perfect for this situation. So, Let's take the rope.
Well, there's a rope. I suppose there's no reason to waste a spell. Though, it is suspicious that they left it here...

One tug and the object falls over the edge... only after that does the fact that it's heavy register. Right.
Okay, I thought that when I was asked to formulate a plan I'd have some options. We weren't going to jump right to 'lasso the wicked thing'. Yeesh.
I do have a Levitation Spell, and I guess I have to use it.
The horrible pit rushing around me, I begin the complex series of gestures and bellow the names of the spirits of gravity. In a moment, I lift upwards, and through my power guide myself out of this horrible mess.
Levitation Used
Dusting my robes and clenching my pained hands, I throw open the door and proceed onwards. "Don't curse the trap maker," I chide myself, "Curse the fool who falls for it."

Nice use of space, Nicholson.
Most of the time, when it comes to adversaries at least, I think the art far outclasses the description in delivering that proper menace. This time is the exception.
So, what are my options anyways?
I feel like items are the way to go here, but have found precisely bupkis of use. So, let's try some magic.
Drawing my power towards myself, I sing the song of flame, to bring fire to the darkness, and hopefully ward off these cruel fiends.

The blow strikes me hard. My head begins to ring with pain. I touch my heart, and speak the secret names of the nineteen hearts of the lord of blood. It soothes me. Strength surges through me.

Enough of this. if it can strike me so, it can be struck. I draw my blade against the darkness.

Turning flesh to jelly is the cruelest art of epidórpiomancy.
I hold my sword against the screaming face, trying to make my arms swing at it. They will not listen.
As I begin to fall I start to recite the names of the gods of gravity, and make the gestures, by reflex more than thought. I realize before I am done that I have already spent my Levitation Spell, and the gods will not answer my call. Then there is pain and darkness once more. I swear as all goes black I can hear that laughter again.
