Starship Traveller: 150, 194, 290, 171: Asking for Directions

       "You are a prey species aren't you?" Melink says with narrowed eyes. Fioral simply stares at her with those glowing blue eyes.

        "Not today they aren't," I say sternly.

         "I could have stayed at home for this," Manstein says as he tries to get his broken exoskeleton to hold together.

          "I'm pretty sure I don't want to see how people debate around here," I say, But let's see those maps. Maybe we can find a char to Culematter.

       "What a surprise...." it's not a diplomatic phrase, but I can't help it.

Either we're interrupting siesta time, or this planet has a gas leak.

       "Bingo!" I cry out, pointing at Culematter. Melink enters notes on it. "Purple star. Should be easy enough to find."

         "Yes," Melink says, "We have our prey." She then stumbles and falls to the ground.

          "Feces," Manstein says as he picks her up.

          "We need to get her to Pyriba, stat," I declare. I nod to the chart keeper, and to Fioral and thank them kindly for their assistance. 

           Then we get out into the open air and ascend to the Heavens.

         On the ship we visit Pyriba. It fusses over all three of us, using its own energy abilities and the med bay tech to patch up wounds and refill us with blood.

        I practically have to fight my way back up to the Bridge.

        Okay, so everybody gets +2 Stamina. This is important, because everybody gets it, not just those I sent down. Right now that doesn't matter, but it manes I can really get healing in for Melink and Manstein by rotating others to come down with my while they heal. That's pretty neat.

We can go to the war-torn planet? What a great way to get killed!

        I point to the purple sun. "There," I say, "Life bearing world around the purple star called Culematter. That's our destination. Hopefully they'll be more," a groan escapes one of my lower ventricles even as I speak, "Hospitable."

        Wow. I feel like I'm actually making a somewhat informed choice. Like the information was actually useful to decision making! Great!

        "That's it,"Isay with more excitement than I should probably show, "Culematter. They may be able to help us!"

          "I'm going down!" I say.

          "Not in your condition," Pyriba says.

           "Not your call, officer," I say. Seeing its shift into the more menacing red end of the spectrum, I decide to at least offer a concession. "But your concern is noted, you can come down with me."
